Bernwode Benedict has a laid back attitude and outstanding temperament, good conformation and excellent jumping ability which, combined with his correct, active paces and proven European performance pedigree ensures a 'top class' sire of Sports Ponies.

 

Benedict's bloodlines boast the gold medal winning German Dressage Team pony, Diamant II and many champions of grading. His sire Bernwode Brokat is also an SPSS stallion and his dam Evelina-S is a Dutch bred, Weser Ems approved, mare.  His paternal Grandsire, Brillant was the leading sire of German sports ponies up to his death in 2004.

Bernwode Benedict's Dam Evelina S was bred in Holland and registered with the NRPS with whom she later graded as a breeding mare.  Subsequently she was also approved as a breeding mare by Weser Ems in Germany and SPSS in the UK.  Evelina is one of the Bernwode stud's founder mares and has had six excellent foals from a variety of sires. Evelina was on loan, later sold, to Delaroche Stud where she had Benedict's full sister Delaroche Breve, born 2007.  This filly was the highest marked 2008 BEF Futurity Sports Pony yearling with 9.5 for athleticism!
