Sire: Holme Park Kalibre is a full brother to the graded Trakehner stallion Holme Park Krug. Kalibre is no longer entire and Bo is his only entire son. Kalibre is pursuing a dressage career with Natalie Banks. Kalibre’s dam, Holme Park Kremona was carefully selected by Holme Trakehners as a breeding partner for their senior stallion, Holme Grove Solomon. In 1994, Solomon was awarded the title of “Runner-up Young Dressage Stallion of the Year” then in 1998 he was crowned “BHF Top British-bred Dressage Sire 1998”. The next year, he was runner up, then he was awarded the title again in 2000.

Dam: Holme Grove Cezanne is a graded BWBS pony mare and Bo Diddley is her first foal. Cezanne’s dam, Holme Grove Cointreau is dam of six foals and her granddam, Holme Grove Chorus, was Champion of her grading with a score of 9 for type.

Damsire: Holme Grove Prokofiev is a German graded and performance tested Trakehner stallion who is by the Russian TB stallion Beg xx. Beg won money racing, show jumped to the equivalent of Grade A and won Grand Prix dressage in Germany. Prokofiev himself has won at Elementary, Medium, Advanced Medium and Prix St Georges dressage in the UK.

Performance

New in 2010, the Reserve Champion of his 2009 Grading, and making history, by becoming the first pure Trakehner to Grade as a Sports Pony Stallion. Dowland K.O. Bo Diddley carries some of the best dressage bloodlines, and at his Grading was also described as showing natural freedom, and a lot of scope in his loose jumping.

Bo Diddley scored a nine for his canter, which was described by the judges Lynne Crowden and Geoff Glazzard as “Athletic, with good cadence and engagement of hindquarters”.  Other judges comments were: “Showing natural freedom and a lot of scope in his loose jumping”, and “An improver type with good elasticity”.

Offspring/Breeding Advice
Bo has an outstanding temperament and a superb loose jump.  He carries some of the best dressage blood lines, and it is thought likely that he will be a good sire of both show and competition ponies and small competition horses. He will be aimed for the dressage arena in 2011.
