At his SPSS grading in October 2004, the British Showjumping (BS) Silver disk stallion Grey Palace was the star of the day and was described by the judges as a 'mini Milton’. Grey Palace, already 138cm champion at the Horse of the Year Show a couple of weeks earlier, gained the much sought after SPSS Elite status, achieving a record-breaking three maximum 10s (for type, ridden jumping and competition record) and an overall score of 87.5% under SPSS judges Celia Clarke and Claire Ballantyne and, of course, full BSJA approval from BSJA judges Geoff Glazzard and Tom Hudson to round off a remarkable year of success for him and his young rider Jordan Whittaker.

Grey Palace is an outstanding 138cm JA pony who was originally ridden in the UK by Jordan Whittaker who presented him for grading in 2004. Grey Palace scored highly at the grading and was awarded SPSS ‘Elite’ status on the strength of his performance results. Jordan and Grey Palace won and were placed at many top shows, including winning at both the Pony of the Year and the Horse of the Year Shows in 2004. In 2005, Jordan’s sister took over the ride and also won at the Pony of the Year show. More good results followed with different riders before Grey Palace again won at the Pony of the Year show in 2009 with Darby Ward. Since October 2010, Darby's younger sister Taylor and more recently Phoebe Locke have been competing Grey Palace and their successes mean that (as at end Jan 2012), Grey Palace has now won £10,609 (including £1,027 won in Ireland) which should upgrade him from "Silver" to "Silver Elite" status with British Showjumping. This high level has only been reached by two pony stallions before (Tiny Tim and Indien de Here) and it confirms Grey Palace's status as the top 138cm jumping stallion in the UK. |

| Due to his competitive career taking precedence over his stud career, Grey Palace has only had only a few foals registered with the SPSS. These are a 2008 filly out of a mare, Lady Di, of unknown breeding and two 2011 foals, Lily's Palace out of the WPCS Sec B mare Corkshills Lily and the colt, Champs Palace, out of Abee Bye Georgia (SHB(GB) by Aimbry Chester). | |
