Littledale Bright Star is a son of the famous Catherston Nightsafe out of a Part Bred Welsh mare. Known as "Titch", he is a very impressive pony with lots of character and is a worthy replacement for his famous father.  His ground covering strides and powerful jump make him a serious prospect for the breeders of both horses and ponies to consider when trying to produce a smaller animal without sacrificing movement and performance.

Dam:

Gwersyllt Town Mouse had a long career as a lead rein then First Ridden pony winning a number of county shows with 3 different riders including 2nd at Ponies UK Championships and 2nd at Hickstead in the First Ridden class.  She is of impeccable breeding with some of the best Welsh and riding pony bloodlines available.

Damsire:

Burstye Trajan was a part-bred Welsh pony, by the NPS registered Bottingelle Kingfisher out of the WPCS Sec B Burstye Fortuna (by Downland Chevalier)

Competing with 10 year old Joe Whitaker in 2007

Performance

Due to lack of suitable jockey he has only been lightly competed under saddle. However, he has been placed at BSJA and Unaffiliated Show jumping. He goes in harness and has even done a little vaulting. He is by the same sire as the notable German sports pony stallion Chantre B who has sired many State Premium daughters and Bundesstuten Champions. Titch has sired winners in jumping, dressage and eventing and was awarded the All Years Sire of Sports Ponies merit award in 2009.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

Titch's offspring have gained consistent High Scores in BEF Futurity Evaluations. Catherston Bit of Gold achieved the Highest Pony Foal Score of 9.36 and Elite Premium Futurity in 2009. Trevaliant Button Moon was 2nd overall in 2 year old Sports Pony & Champion Sports Pony at Addington Finals as yearling also a winner in SHP & WHP foal classes. Catherston Bright Spark & Catherston Miss Glitter were all in the top ranking for Sport Pony foals. Littledale Bright Star tends to breed up to height with horse type movement and so is suitable for all types of horse and pony mares to produce sports ponies and small hunters or eventers.

Some of Littledale Bright Stars' foals are pictured below and look very promising with many mares returning to him again the next year.
