2007 was another successful & busy year for Wayland Loganberry (Logan), he started off the season by winning the 2006 Ringwood Brewery Performance  Pony of the Year.

Then having qualified for a place at the British Eventing Intro Regional Finals last year, they competed in the finals at West Wilts on Tuesday 12th June, coming 3rd overall in a very strong competition, therefore qualifying for the British Eventing Intro Championships at Aston le Walls. The Championships took place over the weekend 9th - 12th August 2007. Logan and Caroline came away with a dressage score of 30, which would have had them finishing in the top 10. An unfortunate 8 faults from the show-jumping, due to a little lapse in concentration, meant that the overall score wasn't as good as Caroline had hoped for, but after a great cross country round Logan proved that he was a force to be reckoned with amongst the big boys!

Logan and Caroline competed at the British Riding Clubs Senior Novice Horse Trials Championships again, over the weekend Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August. They were outright winners of their section for the second year running and came 4th overall out of 120 competitors.

Loganberry won the Bob Templeton Open ridden class and then went on to take Reserve Champion at the NPS Area 25 Summer Show at Lympsham on Tuesday 10th July. He also won the NPS M&M Intermediate WHP class and was then WHP champion.

Logan was also Reserve Working Hunter Pony champion at the 2007 New Forest Pony Breeding & Cattle Society's annual Breed Show and also won the 3' show jumping class for a bit of fun.

Caroline and Logan finished a very creditable 3rd overall in both the Novice and Elementary Dressage to Music classes at the British Riding Club Dressage to Music Championships at Addington in October. And got their picture on the cover of Rider magazine!

Logan is now winning showjumping classes at 1.05m (or 3'6" in old money), and has also started competing at medium dressage, gaining over 60% in his first test.  On Sunday 20th January 2008, Caroline and Logan won their novice test as members of the winning NFPEC Winter League Dressage Team, who qualified for the RC Dressage Finals to be held at Hartpury in April 2008. They then went on to win their Elementary class later in the afternoon.  Caroline and Logan are current individual leaders of the British Riding Clubs Area 17 Winter League.

In 2006, Loganberry, was in the winning Senior Novice Hunter Trials Team (and was 12th individually) at the Riding Clubs Hunter Trial Championships in Peterborough on May 14th.  He also competed at the West Midlands Show on April 6th and won the Shearwater Open M&M WHP classes and then went on to become Reserve Supreme Champion of the show. He also qualified for the Intermediate M&M WHP summer championships and was then Reserve Champion at the same show.  In June, Loganberry, went to a One Day Event at Moreton, Dorchester and competed in the novice 3'0" class, over the British Eventing Intro course.  He had the best dressage score over the day, having only 17.1 penalties, went clear Show Jumping (pictured left), and then flew around the Cross Country course to have only 2.8 time faults. He won the class of 42 on a finishing score of 19.9 penalties, with 2nd place having more than 34 penalties.  Loganberry  has also qualified for the Bob Templeton Open Ridden Championship at the NPS Area XI show, Solihull, and the Intermediate Working Hunter Pony Championship at Thorney Island.

2005 was Logan's first competitive season, throughout which he consistently won and was placed at novice/elementary level dressage, show jumping, Mountain and Moorland Working Hunter Pony and Ridden classes, where he has won one championship and four reserve championships.

In August 2005, the New Forest Pony Breeding Society graded him at 2'9" show jumping and at prelim and novice dressage, where he gained the highest percentages. Loganberry also completed an unaffiliated intro one-day event in July, and has been competing in Hunter Trials successfully at 3-3’3”ft.

In September 2005, he was stallion graded by the Sports Pony Studbook Society earning the second highest stallion percentage at that grading and a place in the Head Studbook. He is the first pure New Forest stallion into the studbook.

Semen is available fresh, chilled or frozen. Currently frozen semen is available from the West Kington Stud (www.westkingtonstud.co.uk). He has sold over 20 straws to Holland, and has also had foals in Australia, where they are currently awaiting more.

Logan’s sire is the prolific winner Wayland Cranberry, who has won in the region of 70 championships, 25 Supremes, both in-hand, ridden and WHP. He has also been best of breed at Olympia three times, finishing 6th in 2005. He is very athletic, with powerful paces and is now proving himself at affiliated dressage. He also has a kind temperament and is very easy to handle which he passes on to all his progeny.

Pictured right is Wellhouse Sportsman (Wayland Loganberry x Swansong) who was bought by the Jurrius Family in Holland in 2007.  As a 2 year old, he has successfully passed the first stages of his stallion licensing and will go on to the next stage in February 2008. Of 72 ponies originally presented to a panel of judges, only 14 have been allowed to continue to this next stage.

Pictured left is the first foal by Wayland Loganberry born in Australia, Bain Park Shiraz.  His breeder reports that he is growing well and has a beautiful temperament, and they think he will make about 13.3 to 14hh. He was taken to his first show which was the major pony show in Australia the "APSB 41st Pony Show" where he won New Forest Yearling Colt and went on to become Reserve Champion New Forest Colt or Stallion.
