Sire:

His sire, Ferguson Uno, was born in 2002 in the Netherlands and originally named Numero Uno.  Renamed when imported to the UK, Ferguson Uno is believed to have only sired a few foals in the UK before being gelded to concentrate on his competition career and he has competed successfully in Working Hunter, Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing.  Indeed, Uno was still getting double clears in British Showjumping classes in 2021 when aged 19 - as well as competing in the Bronze League 138cm & Under Final and Stepping Stones 138cm Final at the British Showjumping National Championships and National Inter-Academy Team Event in August 2021.

Ferguson Uno is a son of Neron who stood in Holland and was approved by the NRPS - and has over 550 offspring registered with them.  According to the NRPS, Neron is over 92.725% Arab.

Dam:

Harlequin’s dam, Waxwing Nightlight a Welsh Sec B, is herself a graded sports mare who has earned a Ster predicate. She was successful in working hunter, dressage and showjumping. Her breeding also brings the blood of Thornwood Royalist and Weston Glow Worm into Harlequin’s bloodlines.

Damsire:

Moleview Mohawk, a multi champion Sec B himself, is a prolific producer of successful Welsh ponies.

Qualified for the Pony of the Year 11 & Under Finals, Stepping Stones Finals, British Novice Second Finals, Pony Discovery 2nd Round Finals, & National Final at Scope Festival

Offspring/Breeding Advice

Harlequin has been used on mares from 11.2h to 16.2h and the results have all been pleasing! The Harlequin foals, out of pony and horse mares, are athletic and typey and display their sire’s kind, intelligent character.

His oldest offspring in the UK are rising 6 and have won and been placed showing in hand at CHAPS nationals and under saddle in Working Hunter, Show Hunter, Coloured classes, ODE and hunter trials. They all have sensible personalities and a desire to please along with athletic build and paces.

His first USA born foal arrived in 2016 and received a premium award with an overall score of 8.2 at his ISR/Oldenburg inspection.

In 2018, his UK born filly foal, Woodburys Lollipop, out of Brynseion Happiness (by Churchwood Troy) was the highest scoring jumping bred pony at the 2018 British Breeders Futurity tour of UK scoring a 10 for conformation, 9s for trot and canter and 8.5 for walk from a panel of 4 judges. Overall score 9.025 and awarded a coveted ELITE Premium.   She was also assessed on the SPSS Evaluation Tour by German judge Hans-Henrich Bruning and awarded an SPSS Premium. Lollipop has the most charming personality and is sure to be a successful children's pony either as a hunter pony or pure jumping.

Harlequin crosses especially well with a large Connemara type mare to produce an agile jumping or working hunter pony. He is beautifully proportioned and therefore crosses well with a larger mare too and has consistently delighted the breeders who have used him.

His frozen semen is available to ship to UK, EU, USA, Canada, AUS, NZ. His fresh chilled semen is available to ship throughout the UK and the quality has proven to be very good.

Harlequin is Registered as a Partbred Welsh and Partbred Arab (18.75%) allowing offspring from mares with some Arab blood to show in PBA classes as well.
