Sire:

De Flor 111 Z is a particularly interesting modern show-jumping stallion, combining some very strong European jumping bloodlines with proven performance at the highest level. Bred by Peter Van Santvoort and Stal Harrie Theeuwes, he is by the grey stallion Der Senaat 111, himself by President (Clinton), while his dam is Eveline 111, by the influential Action-Breaker. Action-Breaker was himself a 1.60m international jumper and is by Heartbreaker, giving De Flor a strong concentration of proven top-level jumping genetics.

The maternal line is particularly appealing. Eveline 111 is out of Corvette, by Coriolan, and this mare line has produced international sport horses. Corvette's offspring include Wisconsin 111, by Darco, who competed at 1.60m level with Spanish international rider Sergio Álvarez Moya. De Flor therefore brings together the influential lines of Clinton, Heartbreaker, Darco and Coriolan within his pedigree — a formidable collection of names from modern show-jumping breeding.

De Flor's own career has justified that pedigree. He has progressed to the 1.60m level, with the FEI currently recording 146 starts and three wins, and his record includes competition at CSIO5* level. In June 2026, riding with Canadian Erynn Ballard, he finished third in the 1.50m Prix FFE / Generali at La Baule before going on to contest the 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix Ville de La Baule.

His partnership with Ballard has produced some particularly notable results. At the 2026 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, De Flor 111 Z produced three top-ten results during the five-star week, including fifth in a 1.50m class and victory in the 1.50m main class. Zangersheide described this as a breakthrough five-star weekend for the stallion.

He has also demonstrated his scope in major international arenas including Spruce Meadows, Monterrey and Williamsburg, where he produced strong results in 1.60m classes. His breeder describes him as a stallion with exceptional scope, blood and looseness, while also emphasising the length and particularly expansive gallop he can contribute to his offspring.

As a sire, De Flor 111 Z is beginning to establish an interesting reputation of his own. His offspring are being seen successfully in international young-horse classes, and the breeder reports that they tend to be athletic, blood-type horses with plenty of body length, movement and an expansive gallop. Interestingly, they also note that De Flor is not generally a size improver, which could be useful information when considering suitable mares.

In short, De Flor 111 Z offers an attractive combination of pedigree and performance: a stallion carrying the blood of Clinton, Heartbreaker, Darco and Coriolan, backed by a maternal line containing genuine international performers, and with his own career now firmly established at 1.60m level. His recent results with Erynn Ballard demonstrate that he is not merely a stallion with an impressive pedigree — he is a proven international athlete in his own right.

Dam:

Indy van Dorperheide comes from a very interesting performance family and her value as a broodmare is strongly underpinned by both her own jumping record and the achievements of her relatives and offspring.

Indy van Dorperheide is a 2008 bay BWP mare by the outstanding Selle Français stallion Diamant de Semilly, out of Camila de Wulf Selection, by the Belgian stallion Parco. She is recorded as having competed to 1.40m level herself.

Her dam, Camila de Wulf Selection, is by Parco, himself a proven 1.60m international jumper. This is an especially significant cross because Parco brings the blood of Darco, one of the great foundation sires of Belgian show jumping. The dam line then goes back through Hedje, by Hedjaz.

And it is the maternal family that makes Indy particularly fascinating.

Indy is a full sister to Idalie van Dorperheide, who also jumped at 1.40m level. Her close relatives include Jade van Dorperheide, by Zilverstar T, who reached 1.45m, and Mr-Ottorongo van Dorperheide, also by Zilverstar T, who reached 1.50m.

Go another generation back and the pedigree becomes even more impressive. The third dam, Hedje, is the dam of the celebrated Otterongo van de Kopshoeven, by Darco. Otterongo was a 1.60m international performer with Ludo Philippaerts and won the CSI-W Grand Prix of Geneva in 2000. The same family produced Dream d'Hedge Wulf Selection, who also competed at 1.60m level, as well as other international performers.

This is therefore a genuine performance dam line rather than simply a fashionable pedigree. The combination of Diamant de Semilly on the top side with Parco/Darco and the Hedjaz maternal line gives Indy a particularly strong concentration of proven jumping blood.

Indy as a broodmare - perhaps the most interesting aspect of Indy today is what she has produced. One particularly notable son is Brilliant D&E Z, by Bamako de Muze. His pedigree combines Indy and Diamant de Semilly on the dam side with Bamako de Muze/Darco on the sire side — effectively bringing together several of the most influential Belgian and French jumping lines. Brilliant D&E Z was presented at the Zangersheide stallion selection, and the catalogue records Indy as his dam.

Indy has also produced Sexy Lady D&E, by Bisquet Balou C, a stallion who competed internationally at five-star level with Nicola Philippaerts. When Sexy Lady was offered through the Horseman Online Auction, the auction description specifically highlighted Indy as a full sister to Idalie and a half-sister to Jade, while emphasising the family's connection with Otterongo and Dream d'Hedge Wulf Selection.

More recently, the family has continued to appear in high-level breeding pedigrees. Oceans Pearl van Dorperheide, from this maternal family and carrying Indy as her dam line, has been reported competing at 1.55m with Kaya Ehning.

So although Indy doesn't have the headline 1.60m competition record of De Flor 111 Z, she arguably has something equally valuable from a breeding perspective: a very deep, repeatedly proven mare family. She is not relying on one famous horse several generations back; there are multiple international performers close around her in the pedigree.

Damsire:

Diamant de Semilly, needs little introduction. A World and European championship performer and one of the most influential jumping sires of the modern era, he competed at 1.60m level and has produced a remarkable number of international Grand Prix and championship horses. His sire is Le Tot de Semilly, another 1.60m performer, while the dam line brings in the influential French blood of Venise des Cresles. Thus Quipido carries one of the strongest strands of modern Selle Français jumping genetics.

Performance

Qupido D&E graded with the SPSS in 2023 where he was seen in-hand, loose and ridden.  He gained an impressive 18/20 for his temperament and good marks for his loose jumping with the judges commenting that he was adjustable & athletic.

In 2026 he jumped clear round the 1.05 Pony club showjumping at Bramham.  He also qualified for all 3 disciplines at the Pony Club championships and he was was in the winning 1m10 Showjumping team, jumping clear in both rounds to finish 5th individually. Then in the 90cm Eventing he finished an individual 6th.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

With a strong performance pedigree including many famous stallions and proven results at Pony Club himself, Quipido should suit a variety of mares.
