SPSS Elite graded Bathleyhills Monet has fantastic German bloodlines as well as possessing the "cream" gene so his progeny could also be palomino or buckskin (depending on the mare's colour).

As a yearling, Monet was awarded an Elite premium at the BEF Futurity then as a two year old, he was Reserve Champion at the SPSS Stallion Grading.  As a 5 year old, he competed successfully in BD Open Novice classes, with a win, a number of 2nds and 3rds as well as a score of over 74%.

Monet is a proven sire with 2 Futurity Elite and many First Premium progeny.  He is also the sire of two  SPSS graded mares (Bathleyhills Golden Spray & Bathleyhills Dressed Up), 2 SPSS graded stallions (Bathleyhills Vue Parfaite & Bathleyhills Swift Promise) and the 2015 SPSS Reserve Supreme Youngstock Champion, Bathleyhills Golden LustreAt the 2016 BBSH Stallion Parade, Monet was awarded the Competition Stallions trophy for the British-based pony stallion with the highest average score for progeny evaluated at the 2015 Futurities.

Monet is also registered part bred Arab (26.98%) and registered part bred Welsh (20.3125%).  His foals, from a variety of mares, consistently do well at the BEF Futurity evaluations.

Monet was awarded SPSS Elite status in 2022 after one of his daughters represented GB at the CCI-S Pony 2* at Millstreet in Ireland where they were clear within the time cross country and finished 12th overall.

Sire:

Casino Royale K was Champion Stallion at his Weser-Ems Stallion Licensing in 2007 and won the Bundeschampionat two years running in Germany (2008 & 2009). He has also been licensed by Westphalia, Hannover and Schleswig-Holstein.  In 2011, Casino Royal K started his international Pony Dressage career and was 4th at the 2011 CDI-PJYR Babenhausen.  He continued to compete internationally in 2012 & 2013 and scored over 70% to win the Team Test at the Babenhausen CDIP in 2013.  He has also sired at least 18 German licensed sons and  9 State Premium graded daughters.  His sire, FS Champion de Luxe, was licensing and performance test champion (receiving four 10s), double Bundeschampion, three times Federal Stallion Show winner, and a Federal Premium Stallion. Casino Royale's dam, the State Premium mare Raffaela K, was champion mare in Weser-Ems in 2000 and winner of the Elite mares show in Vechta and national mare winner in Aachen.  Casino Royale K's granddam, Elite mare Rosepark Prelude, is dam of Black Bianco K and Basalt K, who were placed at the Bundeschampionat.  Basalt K won Team Silver for Holland at the 2006 Pony European Dressage Championships.  Rosepark Prelude is also the dam of the State Premium Mares, Roxana K and Rosenna K, as well as of the licensed stallion Bon Jovi, who was sold to the US through the Vechta elite auction.

Dam:

Mona was a Premium graded Westphalian mare who was awarded a Silver Medal in both 1992 and 1993 from the Westphlian Studbook.  She produced at least 3 licensed stallions, among them the Rhineland Licensing Champion, Padparadscha, before being imported to the UK.  Mona is also graded Weser-Ems (Studbook 1), Rheinland (Head Studbook) and SPSS (Head Studbook).  Her German-born progeny includes the successful showjumpers Pacco N (by FS Pavarotti) who has won over €4K and Mr Midnight Magic (by FS Maracaibo).  Mona's dam, Reviera is a daughter of Silvertop's Ricco, a graded son of the British Riding Pony, Catherston Red Gold, who was an important influence in German Riding Pony breeding.  Mona was awarded the "Leading Sports Pony Dam" Certificate of Merit by the BEF in 2010 based an average progeny score of 8.43.

Damsire:

Matcho is a German Riding Pony with some Arab ancestry through his grandsire, the part-bred Arab Merafic.  Matcho's dam, Lucie has the classic names, Downland Chevalier, Solway Master Bronze and Bwlch Valentino in her pedigree. Matcho is also the sire of the successful international driving pony Murphy 40, who won at the Pony Driving European Championships in 2002.

Bathleyhills Monet was presented at the BEF Futurity Evaluations as a foal and was awarded a High First premium as a Sports Pony and, the same year, he also gained a First Premium at the SPSS In-hand Show and a Premium from the Oldenburg Society.  As a yearling, he was awarded an Elite Premium at his Futurity Evaluation with the excellent score of 9.04 (dressage) and was the highest scoring dressage yearling at his evaluation.  Overall, Monet finished the year as the second highest scoring sports pony and the Top Yearling Pony. The same year, Monet was 148 cms Champion at the National Palomino Championships and Supreme Champion at the SPSS Open In-hand Show with judges Herr Hans-Heinrich Bruening and Mrs Lynne Crowden awarding him a First Premium.  Monet is pictured wearing his prize rug and sash.

In 2011, as a two year old, Monet was Reserve Champion at the SPSS Grading and grading judges Herr Hans-Heinrich Bruening, Mr Geoff Glazzard and Mrs Celia Clarke commented that he was an "attractive type of modern sports pony".

Monet was backed in 2013 and is being brought on carefully with FEI pony dressage as the ultimate goal. His temperament & manners are such that after a BYRDS group training session the trainer was surprised to hear he was a young stallion as he’d behaved impeccably even when other ponies in the group had been quite excited.  As a 5 year old, he competed successfully in BD Open Novice classes, with a win, a number of 2nds and 3rds as well as a score of over 74%.

At the end of 2014, Monet's progeny’s BEF Futurity results and his own performance record resulted in him being awarded permanently graded status by the SPSS with effect from 1st January 2015.

Monet was awarded SPSS Elite status in 2022 after one of his daughters represented GB at the CCI-S Pony 2* at Millstreet in Ireland where they were clear within the time cross country and finished 12th overall.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

Bathley Hill Farm Stud are thrilled with Monet's conformation and movement and believe he is an exceptional addition to their breeding programme, being one of only 5 youngsters on the floor in 2009 by Casino Royale K.  Monet's top class German pony breeding is expected to add quality to all types of mares.

Monet has stamped conformation, movement & above all temperament on his stock. He had an Elite Futurity foal from both of his first two crops as well as multiple High First premium foals out of a huge variety of mares. The Leading Pony Sire in 2012, Monet finished that year as the sire with the highest average score for progeny “frame & build” over all disciplines and all stallions (horse & pony). A large percentage of his stock to date have also inherited his dilute colour gene.

In 2015, his first progeny to be presented for SPSS grading both passed, making him the sire of a SPSS graded mare (Bathleyhills Golden Spray) and an SPSS graded stallion (Bathleyhills Vue Parfaite).  In addition, his gelding son, Bathleyhills Golden Lustre (out of SPSS graded Bathleyhills Touch of Lustre by SPSS graded Thistledown Copper Lustre) was awarded a SPSS Gold Premium and stood Reserve Supreme at the Youngstock Final.

At the 2016 BBSH Stallion Parade, Monet was awarded the Competition Stallions trophy for the British-based pony stallion with the highest average score for progeny evaluated at the 2015 Futurities.  In Autumn 2016, his daughter, Bathleyhills Dressed Up, graded, another 3 SPSS GOLD Premiums went to his progeny and a foal was a double Champion at the British National Foal of the Year Show.

In 2017, another of Monet's sons, Bathleyhills Swift Promise, graded with the SPSS and was also the Northern Reserve Champion Stallion and his 2 year old son Popenhoe Picture Perfect was the SPSS 2017 Youngstock Reserve Supreme Champion, Top 2 year old and Top Small Horse.

His 2012 daughter, SPSS graded and Performance tested Bathleyhills Golden Spray aka Wilma, has been competing in British Eventing classes with her owner’s daughter, Florence Ashmore, since July 2020 when they were 8th at BE90 level. Wilma and Florence completed their first Novice in August 2021 then in 2022 they finished in the top 10 at both the 2 Pony Trials they entered and at the British Pony Championships. As a result, they were selected for the CCI-S Pony 2* at Millstreet Ireland where they were clear within the time cross country and finished 12th overall and as a result were awarded SPSS Elite graded status.
