The 2017 Pony European Eventing Champion, SF Detroit was accepted as an SPSS ELITE Graded Stallion in 2021 based on his German licensing and outstanding competition career. Born in 2009, SF Detroit (Denver x Cap Cennedy N) was bred by Dorothea Feld in Germany and he started his competition career there, culminating in taking the Eventing Pony (5-6 year old) Bundeschampion title in 2015 - and also finishing 12th in the 6 year old Dressage Pony Final. “Troy” then moved to the UK and, ridden by Georgina Herrling, moved swiftly to Pony Trial level and was selected for the British Team at the 2017 Pony Euros where they finished on their dressage score to win Gold individually and lead GB to Team Silver. Then at the 2019 Pony Euros, ridden by Daisy Bathe, they won Team Gold.

SF Detroit's dam-line is full of proven performance ponies with his dam, Bellevue was placed 5th in the Bundeschampionate Final for Jumping Ponies in 2004 and 8th in 2005. She also placed in the top 4 in German level A and L classes between 2003 and 2006 before retiring to stud. Her first foal, Manchester 22 (by St. Annens Monsieur N) was born in 2008, then SF Detroit in 2009. Her 2012 foal, SF Beverley (by Mentano K), is another international FEI Eventing pony and competed in the CCIOP2-L at Strzegom and CCIP2-L at Wahlsdorf-Liepe in Autumn 2020. Licensed stallion SF Magic Mike (also by Mentano K) was born in 2013 and also competed at CCIOP2-L at Strzegom and CCIP2-L at Wahlsdorf-Liepe (where they were 4th) in 2020 and at Oudkarspel CCIP2-L in April 2021.

Her dam, Bettina, has also produced successful jumping ponies including Aaron N (also known as Aron N & Aaron Z) who won Team Silver at the 1997 Pony Euros (at Hartpury, UK) and finished 13th in the Jumping Championships at the 1998 Pony Euros (in Le Touquet, France).

Damsire: Cap Cennedy N is also the sire of FEI eventing pony Castello N who competed at CCIP1* level in 2008 & 2009 as well as the damsire of the 2016 & 2018 European Dressage Pony Individual & Kur Gold Medallist, Zinq Massimiliano FH.

SF Detroit's stellar competition record speaks for itself.

Winner of the prestigious German Bundeschampionate for 5-6 year old Eventing Ponies in 2015 and remarkably also a finalist in the Dressage Ponies Bundeschampionate the same year.

He then moved to the UK and, ridden by Georgina Herrling, moved swiftly to Pony Trial level, Winner of Final Pony Trial at Barbury 2017 5th at UK Pony Championships at Brand Hall 2017

Ridden by his owner, Georgina Herrling, he secured an Individual Gold medal and Team Silver medal for Team GB at his first appearance at the FEI Championship at age eight.

Following his hugely successful season in 2017, his rider suffered a complex fracture in April and missed the majority of the 2018 season. However, showing his superb form, he competed at the final Pony Trial, scoring a personal best of 12.3 and going double clear.

In 2019, now ridden by Daisy Bathe, they were the 2019 British Pony Champions (at Brand Hall Pony Championship) then at the 2019 Pony Euros, ridden by Daisy Bathe, they won Team Gold.

While SF Detroit has excelled as an eventing pony, he also has the ability to succeed in pure Dressage (successfully competing up to BD Medium Level) or Show Jumping.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

SF Detroit stands out due to his exceptional paces, eye-catching presence, work ethic and bravery.

He has a huge personality but as a stallion is straightforward to manage as part of a busy competition yard, where he is well mannered and managed by teenager on a day-to-day basis. SF Detroit has an incredible ability to focus on the job - both at home and also at competitions.

His first foals were born in Germany and include SF Dayton (damsire St. Annens Monsieur N) and Mia Bellissima L (out of Miss Marple Ut Deuten by Lajunen) who were both born in 2016.
