Trá Bháin Tailors Shadow.

15hh Class 1 2019 Connemara Stallion

2022 Stallion Grading Reserve Champion, Pauline Keegan’s Trá Bháin Tailors Shadow was bred in Ireland by Micheál Reaney and is licensed as Class 1 by the CPBS & BCPS.

This exceptional young stallion is by Silver Shadow out of Ballinakill Lass by Moy Johnny’s Pride. These are strong proven performance lines on both sides. His sire jumped internationally himself and has many FEI Showjumping and eventing progeny, he was the sire of 4 ponies at the 2021 European championships and the grandsire of another 2. His dam, Ballinakill Lass, is also the dam of the FEI Showjumping pony, Jack The Lad, who competes internationally for Denmark as well as double HOYS M&M WHP Champion Laburnum Richard and Class 1 stallion & HOYS finalist Cool Jack.

At the grading, the judges praised his loose jumping saying “excellent attitude, willing & bold” and that he had “very good scope”.

He has correct conformation and athletic movement with a kind nature. He has endless scope over a fence and a great natural jumping technique. He has recently started working under saddle with a great attitude and natural balance. He will begin his competitive ridden career later this year.

Offspring/Breeding Advice

With his strong performance bloodlines, Trá Bháin Tailors Shadow is expected to be a good sire of eventing and showjumping ponies and could suit a range of mares, including TBs and those needing more bone and potentially less height.

He has correct conformation and athletic movement with a kind nature. He has endless scope over a fence and a great natural jumping technique. He has recently started working under saddle with a great attitude and natural balance. He will begin his competitive ridden career later this year.

Trá Bháin Tailors Shadow's first crop of foals are due in 2023.
