Owned by Mrs L Pluess and standing at her daughter's Trevoulter Barton Stud, Tresparrett Spirit of Two-Rivers was the first Welsh Section A to grade with the SPSS. He also passed his British Showjumping Assessment at that time. Sadly, he died suddenly in his stable in May 2012. |
|
Trevoulter Barton Stud put out the following statement:
"It is with deepest regret that Trevoulter Barton Stud has to announce the sudden death in his stable on Saturday afternoon of the 4 year old Welsh Section A WPCS licensed stallion, Tresparrett Spirit of Two-Rivers. A great favourite with Kerensa and her staff and the apple of the eye of his owner Lynn Pluess, 'Norman' as he was known to his many friends and admirers was a very special and totally spoilt pony, with a huge personality as well as great presence and movement. He was bred by Roberta Jones and Emily Kenyon, arriving at TBS as a yearling, he had a very successful career in hand before being presented for grading with the Sports Pony Studbook Society in the autumn of 2010 where he became the first Section A SPSS graded stallion in 2010. |
One of his outings this year was at Bicton stallion parade where he showed himself off to the audience to the music of 'I'm sexy and I know it'. He pulled it off really well, with everybody cheering him on, he creatied huge interest and was the talk of the day. This was one of his main qualities - how he could wow an audience with his character.
In the process of being broken to work under saddle, TBS was looking forward to the start of his competitive ridden career with great excitement, but sadly this was not to be. TBS have frozen semen available from him. There is the exciting prospect of his first crop of foals which are due shortly, so the sprit of little Norman lives on. We really miss him so much. Love you little man xxxxx " |
Origins |
|
Sire: Llannor Two-Rivers is a popular Welsh Section A stallion in the West Country who is noted for producing typey, athletic progeny with super temperaments. His pedigree is mainly Coed Coch (he is line-bred to the legendary multichampion Coed Coch Madog) with a complimentary dash of Revel and Gredington blood, thus providing the ideal balance for the sire of a graded sports pony stallion of Welsh Section A origins.
Dam: Rexon Royal Spirit of Glory is a quality broodmare who is line bred to the valued sire Maxwelltown Meteor. She also enhances the Revel input of the pedigree through her dam sire Carnalw Hyderus.
Damsire: Friars Free Spirit carries many generations of Friars blood in his top line and thus ensures an attractive nick with the Coed Coch, Gredington and Revel blood to be found in Llanor Two Rivers’ pedigree. |
Performance | |
Tresparrett Spirit of Two-Rivers had a very successful career in hand winning and being highly placed in many Welsh Section A and Mountain and Moorland classes, including winning the Section A foal class at the NPS Summer Championships in 2008.
In October 2010, he became the first ever Section A stallion to grade successfully with the SPSS. |
Offspring |
2011 was Tresparrett Spirit of Two-Rivers' his first season at stud so his progeny are still young. |
